Memories

Mem’ries
light the corners of my mind
Misty water color mem’ries
of the way we were.

Scattered pictures
of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
for the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten ev’ry line
If we had the chance to do it all again
tell me - Would we?
Could we?

Mem’ries
may be beautiful, and yet
what’s too painful to remember
we simply choose to forget
so it’s the laughter
we will remember
when ever we remember
the way we were
the way we were

Had a little weep in the stairwell after I hung up from talking to my teddybear. Perhaps it was the emotions of it all merging together that sparked off the tears - sorrow, confusion, lost, joy, worry and loneliness. But whatever it is, I felt better after having done it. I suppose crying is the only emotion outlet when there is no one to listen.
